We Were Wrong About Your Sky
A single mapping error changed Types, Authorities and Gene Keys across every chart we had drawn. A customer told us in August. This is what went wrong, what we rebuilt, and what we owe the people who trusted the numbers.
A reader caught what our tests did not
In August 2026, a user compared their Zodigram chart with another Human Design calculator and wrote to tell us the results were wrong. They listed three things: an incorrect Type, an incorrect Authority, and a Gene Keys profile that should be mathematically impossible — the same key listed for both Radiance and Purpose.
They were right on all three. We did not find out until the end of October.
Their message was a comment under one of our posts, not an email to support. Nobody was reading that thread, so it sat unanswered for more than two months while we kept handing out the same wrong numbers. That is not the mistake described below. It is the reason the mistake was allowed to last.
Radiance and Purpose come from the design Sun and design Earth. Those two points are always exactly opposite each other on the wheel, 180° apart. They can never share a gate. If a profile shows them as identical, the calculation is broken, not unusual.
What was wrong
Our engine converted planetary longitudes into Human Design gates using a simplified mapping. It did not follow the authentic sequence of the 64 gates. On its own, that is already a serious error: every gate, channel, center and Type downstream of it can shift.
The second problem was structural. Astrology, Human Design and Gene Keys were calculated through separate paths that did not share one verified source of astronomical data. When one path drifted, the other two did not correct it. Instead, the disagreement was hidden inside three confident-looking results.
That is how a single mapping error became a wrong Type, a wrong Authority and an impossible Gene Keys profile — presented as a personal blueprint.
What we changed
We replaced the shared calculation core rather than patching around it. All three systems now read from the same verified calculation:
Apparent geocentric positions in the ecliptic of date, corrected for light-time and aberration — the same positions for every body, including the Moon.
The authentic 64-gate sequence, with the correct 5.625° gate span and six lines per gate.
The design moment found by solving for exactly 88° of solar arc before birth, using a bracketed search rather than an approximation.
The true (osculating) lunar node, computed from the Moon’s instantaneous state, with the south node exactly opposite.
Equal houses, stated explicitly in the chart’s provenance so it is never implied.
What changed for you
Every chart calculated with the previous engine is recalculated with the corrected one. Nothing about your birth data has changed. There is nothing to delete, re-enter or pay for.
When you open a chart, the Type, Authority, Profile, centers, channels, astrological positions and Gene Keys are the corrected values. If you have a Premium reading, it is generated from the corrected chart the next time you open it, because readings are keyed to a fingerprint of the calculation rather than stored against the old numbers.
If your Type or Authority changed, that is not a revision of your identity. It is a correction of our arithmetic. The chart you recognised may no longer match the one we gave you, and you are allowed to be annoyed about that.
What we got wrong as a company
The bug matters. The two failures around it matter more.
First, correctness. We had tests that confirmed the engine was internally consistent. Internal consistency is not correctness. We did not pin the engine against known charts from established Human Design sources, and we did not treat an impossible output — two opposite points sharing a gate — as a hard failure that should stop a chart from being shown.
Second, listening. Our support inbox was watched. The comments under our own posts were not. A report that never reaches a person cannot be acted on, and for two months ours did not reach anyone. Feedback on our posts now belongs in the same queue as support, with a named owner and a first-response expectation.
We have since added a version constant and a stored calculation fingerprint, so a future change to the engine can be detected chart by chart instead of being discovered by a customer. We have also made the recalculation path explicit and reviewable, with a dry run, a backup of the previous rows, and a written diff of what changed. None of that undoes the original mistake. It makes the next one visible sooner.
Three months of Premium
Every account that held a chart calculated before 29 October 2026 can have three months of Premium free of charge, with no card and no subscription. Reply to the email we sent, or write to support@zodigram.com, and we will activate it.
It is the least we can do after asking people to trust a blueprint that was arithmetically wrong.
How to check us
Do not take our word for the corrected numbers. Compare them:
Jovian Archive and MyBodygraph for Human Design Type, Authority, Profile and defined centers.
Any reputable ephemeris for planetary positions, the ascendant and house cusps.
Where small differences are expected
Human Design lineages differ on node conventions (true versus mean), and some use different house systems. We use the true node and equal houses, and we state both in the chart’s provenance. Small differences at a boundary are a matter of lineage.
Large differences are not. A different Type, a different Authority, or an impossible Gene Keys pairing always means something is wrong. Tell us, and we will investigate. A human reads every reply.
